Job Description
Employer description:
DarkInvader is a leading UK-based provider of external attack surface management (EASM) services. We help companies identify, understand and defend against their exposed digital footprint. Our platform and services uncover vulnerabilities, threats and risks that lie beyond the firewall—from infrastructure misconfigurations to employee-targeted social engineering risks.
We’re looking for a driven and inquisitive apprentice to join our threat intelligence team and support our intelligence-led offensive security programmes. You’ll gain hands-on experience in open-source intelligence (OSINT), vulnerability assessment, client support, and real-world adversarial simulation—while undertaking a recognised qualification in cyber security.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with our researchers and security consultants, your responsibilities will include:
* Gathering open-source intelligence (OSINT) about companies and employees to support EASM operations.
* Researching and documenting vulnerabilities that could be exploited across internet-facing assets.
* Assisting with the design of realistic spear phishing simulations based on gathered intelligence.
* Analysing risks to VIPs and executives (e.g. from exposed credentials, social profiles or dark web data).
* Providing first-line support to clients through our ticketing system and helping them resolve security queries.
* Preparing threat summaries and exposure reports for customers.
* Assisting in light-touch penetration testing and reconnaissance tasks under supervision.
* Conducting basic incident investigation and data enrichment during customer support or security review tasks.
Desirable skills:
* Passion for cyber security and threat intelligence.
* Curiosity and attention to detail.
* Strong written communication skills.
* A logical and analytical mindset.
* Comfortable using internet search tools and online platforms for research.
* Self-motivated and eager to learn.
* Organised, with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
Entry requirements:
* an A-Level in ICT
* OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
* OR an A-Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
* OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
