Overview of the job
This role reports to the Regional Probation Director (RPD) and supports the RPD in ensuring the effective delivery of probation services within the region. The postholder will act as a link between the region and HQ, providing assurance of service delivery and maintaining a broad understanding of issues across MoJ.
The role involves coordinating the RPD's private office, managing relationships with stakeholders, and overseeing the office budget. The post includes line management responsibilities for the team within the RPD's private office.
Key responsibilities include diary management, representing the RPD in non-operational matters, commissioning work on regional objectives, managing correspondence and briefing documents, and maintaining professional relationships with various government and criminal justice agencies.
The postholder will also support risk report updates, undertake ad-hoc projects, and ensure effective communication and decision-making processes. The role requires flexibility to adapt to additional tasks as necessary.
Fluency in English is required; Welsh language skills are specified for roles in Wales.
