The Role
We are looking for an Accountant to join the Business Works team and take ownership of a ready-made client portfolio. Our clients range from sub-contactors to million-pound turnover Limited Companies, so no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accounts, VAT returns, and personal and corporate tax returns
Provide tailored tax planning advice to clients
Profitably manage and deliver work across a portfolio of clients
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the highest standards of service
Identify opportunities for growth and support business development activities
Represent Business Works at networking events and seminars
Train and mentor junior team members

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be commercially aware, confident working directly with clients, and able to explain complex financial information clearly. Youll be both detail-oriented and forward-thinking, with the ability to balance technical delivery with relationship management. About you:
ACA or ACCA qualification (part-qualified or QBE also considered)
At least 2 years experience in practice
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
Good attention to detail and understanding of Data Protection
