As part of this long-term transformation programme, we're looking for Virtualisation Engineers at multiple experience levels - from early-career professionals to seasoned specialists. Whether you're building on a solid foundation or bringing deep technical expertise, this is an opportunity to work on nationally significant systems while developing your skills in a supportive, people-first environment What You'll Be Doing You'll join a collaborative technical team responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting complex virtualised environments. Your day-to-day work may include: Providing first and second-line support for incidents and technical issues Monitoring system performance and ensuring stable, secure operations Creating and maintaining documentation to support knowledge sharing Supporting compliance with internal processes, standards, and policies Contributing to continual service improvement initiatives Your exact responsibilities will scale with your experience - junior engineers will receive structured support and mentoring, while senior engineers will take on more complex problem-solving and technical ownership. What You'll Bring We're looking for individuals who are organised, curious, and proactive. You'll enjoy working in a team, sharing knowledge, and continuously improving how things are done. Key qualities include: Strong organisational and time-management skills Familiarity with ITIL best practices A mindset focused on root-cause analysis and process improvement A proactive approach to identifying risks and issues A willingness to learn, grow, and support others Desirable Technical Skills We're open to candidates with a range of backgrounds. Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial: Virtualisation technologies and concepts Windows Server 2016/2019 administration Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Red Hat technologies (e.g., Satellite 6, RHEL/CentOS, CoreOS) Active Directory administration (OU structure, RBAC, DFS) VSAN, SCVMM, Hyper-V Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Git) Awareness of McAfee EPO/ENS You don't need to tick every box - if you have a solid grounding in virtualisation and a desire to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
