Our Partner
Our client is an ambitious design‑led company working in the gifts, games and FMCG space. They partner with major UK retailers, combining creative design with commercial discipline to deliver standout shelf appeal. Their culture encourages bold ideas, collaborative working and fast execution across multi‑format ranges.
Key Responsibilities
* Design modern, eye-catching packaging across multiple product categories (gifts, toys, craft, etc.) that competes strongly in retail.
* Shape product and packaging ranges for major retailers, from premium to value tiers.
* Refresh existing bestsellers and develop new formats to meet market trends and retailer constraints.
* Collaborate cross‑functionally: engage with Sales, Publishing, Production and suppliers; present and advocate for design concepts with clarity and authority.
* Manage projects end‑to‑end: from concept through to final artwork, in line with retail cycles and deadlines.
Experience & Skills
We seek someone who brings both imagination and commercial sensitivity. You’ll be an experienced designer, familiar with retail requirements and a persuasive communicator, able to present compelling visual ideas.
Essential
* Experience in graphic and packaging/product design (FMCG (including CDUs/FSDUs), toys, gifting, beauty) or related.
* Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent).
* Commercial understanding of costings, value tiers, and retailer requirements.
* Ability to present and rationalise design ideas convincingly.
* Trend awareness and ability to generate fresh concepts aligned to market changes.
1. Desirable
* Experience working across multiple product categories (craft, toys, gifts).
* Experience designing for the children’s market.
* Exposure to emerging design tools, AI/ML, or product innovation methodologies.
* Understanding of manufacturing constraints and material choices.

What’s On Offer
* Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
* Working pattern: Hybrid, with 2 days a week in an East Midlands base
