Your responsibilities as Retail Butcher
Prepare and present fresh meat products for the retail counter to high presentation standard
Produce sausages, bacon and other traditional butcher products for farm shop sale
Maintain a clean, organised and compliant preparation and cutting area
Manage stock organisation and basic paperwork related to product handling
Serve customers at the counter, advising on cuts and product selection
Support the development and growth of the butcher counter within the farm shop
What we’re looking for in a Retail Butcher
Previous experience working within retail butchery or fresh meat preparation
Experience preparing pork, beef, lamb and poultry for retail sale
Knowledge of sausage and bacon production methods
Experience working within a food retail, farm shop or butcher counter environment
Knowledge of food hygiene and safe meat handling procedures
Working hours: Approximately 40–42 hours per week, starting around 8:00am, Tuesday to Saturday (farm shop closed Sunday and Monday).
