With over 750,000 visitors a year, Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood National Nature Reserve is very much about people as well as wildlife – our team of nearly 200 volunteers give around 20,000 hours to the site each year to help keep it in great condition as well as engaging with visitors. From dry-stone walling to archiving and from leading school groups to litter picking, they support much of what we do. This role is absolutely key to coordinating this incredible resource.
The Charity's office is at the Deer Barn in the heart of Bradgate Park, also the location of the Visitor Centre and Deer Barn café.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisation skills who can coordinate and administrate our volunteer sessions as well as get hands-on with the volunteers on key tasks
.
You will need to be able to work closely with the rest of the Bradgate team to ensure tasks run smoothly and build strong relationships with volunteers to ensure they are motivated, engaged and feel like part of the team.
Ideally you will have some or all of the following skills:
* Knowledge and experience of the voluntary sector and working with volunteers;
* Experience in the environmental / outdoor / heritage sector;
* Ability to build strong relationships;
* Strong organisation, administration and IT skills;
* Ability to deliver clear and concise communication;
* Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
