Job summary
We would welcome applications for a confident, experienced, well organised practice manager to work with a friendly general practice team committed to delivering excellent care. We are a patient focused team and GP training practice in Warrington with 8.5k patients and four GP partners. We see this as an exciting opportunity to be part of a proactive, forward thinking established practice.
Main duties
The role will preferably require experience within primary care and business management. Roles will include managing the primary care team, Human Resources, financial management and planning, patient service delivery, risk management and CQC compliance. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of the practice as well as ensuring the wellbeing of our dedicated team.
About us
We are a GP Training practice in Warrington, Cheshire and belong to the Central and West Warrington PCN. We have four partners, two salaried GPs and several trainees (ST and FY2). We also have two practice nurses as well as ARRS roles including HCAs, mental health practitioner, physiotherapy, dietician and pharmacists. The practice uses System One. We are a dynamic practice with lots of innovative ideas and progressive working.

Job responsibilities
* Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
* Managing the procurement of practice equipment, supplies and services
* Managing contracts for bought in services (e.g., cleaning, gardening)
* Managing the premises, including health and safety aspects such as risk assessments and mandatory training
* Ensuring the practice has appropriate insurance cover
* Developing, implementing and embedding an appropriate business continuity plan
* Direct line management of Reception & administrative staff
* Managing the recruitment and retention of staff; ensuring training and delivering staff appraisals
* Implementing effective systems for the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues
* Managing the financial elements of the practice, including budgets, cash and bank balances, and seeking to maximise income and reduce expenditure
* Managing and processing partners drawings, PAYE and pensions for practice staff
* Maintaining liaison with the accountant, overseeing practice accounts and year-end figures
* Briefing partners on financial matters, including forecasting
* Coordinating the review and updating of all practice policies and procedures
* Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives; coordinating projects within the practice
* Coordinating and leading the strategic direction of the business through quarterly strategy meetings with partners
* Developing, implementing and embedding an effective communication strategy (internal and external)
* Ensuring the practice maintains compliance with NHS contractual obligations and CQC registration
* Ensuring the team reach QOF and enhanced service targets
* Encouraging the use of patient online services
* Liaising at external meetings as required
* Marketing the practice appropriately
* Supporting the management of the Patient Participation Group
