Leading a small team of HGV drivers it will be the Haulage Managers responsibility to coordinate their workload, organise logistics and ensure smooth day to day running of the fleet.
Around half of your time will be spent in the office planning logistics, speaking to customers, managing staff, ensuring vehicles are maintained and associated administration is up to date. The rest of your time will be spent driving, including providing holiday cover and supporting the rest of the team as and when required.
My client specialises in agricultural haulage, transporting machinery, grain, bales, building materials, etc on behalf of an established farming customer base an agricultural background would be highly advantageous.
The role :
Manage HGV drivers: Assign workload, support, training, disciplinary
Oversee logistics and planning
Liaise with haulage customers
Drive HGV when required
Ensure a high standard of health and safety
Organise vehicle maintenance with inhouse mechanic
Vehicle admin
Generate haulage quotes
Requirements :
HGV Class 1- Essential
Communication skills
Dynamic and adaptable
Organised and able to adhere to deadlines
Agricultural background (Desirable)
Management experience (Desirable)
