Purpose of the Role: They are looking for a hands-on Transport Manager to take full responsibility for their day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strong commercial performance. This is not a desk-based role. They are looking for someone who is present, proactive, and confident in managing drivers, challenging performance, and maintaining full control of the operation. Key Responsibilities: Manage transport operations, including routing, planning, and fleet utilisation. Monitor and improve vehicle performance, efficiency, and downtime. Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and operator requirements. Take ownership of cost control, KPIs, and operational profitability. Work closely with planners and operational teams. Lead and manage drivers, ensuring performance and accountability. Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness. Ensure reliable and timely service delivery, resolving customer issues and complaints effectively. Support maintaining accreditation standards, including the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). Essential requirements Minimum 3 years' experience in transport or logistics. Minimum 2 years managing drivers or operational teams. CPC qualified or actively working towards it. Experience using TMS, routing systems, and MS Office. Good knowledge of the Oxfordshire area. Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable Experience in waste management / skip hire / similar industry.
