This award-winning UK retailer is looking to recruit a Senior Buying Manager who will be responsible for putting together the range for the Confectionery, Snacks and Soft Drinks range. The job holder will work in their modern West Midlands office 3 days per week, with the rest being remote based.
About the role
Reporting to the Buying Director, this will be a high-profile role where you will manage a team of Buyers to enhance the product range by sourcing new suppliers as well as nurturing the relationships with the current supply base. You will play a lead role in building the category strategies, ensuring the ranges land on time and developing supplier strategies. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to produce promotional plans and joint business plans, with ultimate accountability for margin and profitability of the category.
About the Person
This would suit someone with a retail or wholesale Buying background who has strong experience in Impulse, Confectionery and other ambient grocery categories, however we will consider other FMCG category experience such as soft drinks or household grocery products. You will be an inspirational manager, leading from the from the front with excellent supply base management and negotiation skills as well as a proven track record of success in driving cost efficiencies and adding value through the identification of commercial opportunities. It is essential that you will have a collaborative working style, be a confident communicator with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
