We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Motor Vehicle Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of programmes—from Level 1 to Level 3, apprenticeships, and adult learning. This exciting role combines hands‑on workshop teaching with engaging classroom theory, providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
What You'll Do
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
* Teach and assess across full‑time, part‑time, and apprenticeship routes.
* Support learners to achieve their goals and progress into employment or further education.
* Promote health and safety, industry relevance, and inclusive learning.
* Liaise with employers, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in quality assurance.
Qualifications and Skills
* Relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Engineering or a related discipline.
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or willingness to work towards one).
* Recent experience in the automotive industry or teaching in a motor vehicle environment.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of modern vehicle technologies and diagnostic procedures.
* Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
* Extensive knowledge of the subject area.
* Proficiency with software needed in the role, including diagnostic tools.
* Experience working with people in a learning environment.
Desirable Qualifications
* Assessor and/or IQA qualifications (TAQA, A1, V1).
* Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technology.
* Previous experience delivering apprenticeship programmes or liaising with employers.
* Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
