The successful candidate will oversee a small design team and take a hands-on role using SolidWorks to deliver high-quality mechanical and hydraulic system designs. This role involves close collaboration with purchasing and production to ensure on-time, efficient project delivery.
Job Overview
* Lead and manage the mechanical design function, overseeing a small team of four design engineers (2 on-site, 1 part-time, 1 remote).
* Undertake hands-on design work using SolidWorks, ensuring all project designs meet technical standards, quality, and delivery schedules.
* Review and check design outputs to ensure accuracy, functionality, and on-time completion.
* Liaise closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely delivery of components and materials.
* Work alongside the Production Manager to support manufacturing processes, resolve design-related issues, and ensure smooth production handovers.
