At the Caravan and Motorhome Club, we aim to share our passion for enjoying the great outdoors by providing an unrivalled choice of quality places to stay, at locations world-wide. We provide over one million members with access to nearly 2,700 locations in the UK and Europe, as well as giving them access to our vast knowledge and expertise in how to make the most of caravanning and motor-homing a leisure pastime.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities (Product & Commercial Focus)
Strategic: Define and execute the overall product strategy in alignment with business goals and customer outcomes.
Leadership: Lead, mentor and mature the product and commercial team to drive high performance, skills development, and innovation. P&L Ownership: Deliver annual revenue targets in excess of £120 million.
Product Development: Lead the long-term product strategy for all key revenue streams: UK Campsites, Group Accommodation, Overseas Travel Portfolio (Campsites & Crossings), and Alan Rogers / Worldwide Tours.
Yield Management: Implement sophisticated yield management techniques across all products to maximize revenue return.
Business Development: Identify and develop opportunities for new, relevant services, markets, and product diversification (e.g. glamping, new international routes).
Commercial Partnerships: Develop and maintain new corporate and commercial partnerships that offer maximum financial benefit and good standing for the Club.
Market Intelligence: Deliver continuous market intelligence to support the Group's strategic development, including site acquisition, competitor analysis, and policy formulation.
Stakeholder Management: Maintain top-level contact with suppliers, national and international statutory bodies, and authorities (e.g. ferry operators) to ensure operational viability and optimal commercial terms.
Customer insight and research: Ensure continuous review of members and guests needs and desires to adapt existing products and develop new ones.
Governance: Act as a Board Director of Club subsidiaries, including the Alan Rogers Travel Group.
Compliance: Comply with Club policies and implement management controls related to the Package Travel Directive, FCA guidelines, Health and Safety, and Data Protection.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
Demonstrated success in a Director level marketing role preferred.
P&L and Commercial Leadership: Proven track record in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for large-scale P&L management, revenue growth, and yield optimisation.
Product Management Expertise: Demonstrable experience in end-to-end product lifecycle management within the leisure, travel, or hospitality sector.
Strategic & Analytical Acumen: Strong strategic, analytical, and organisational skills required to synthesize market intelligence and drive data-led business development decisions (including acquisitions).
Negotiation & Supplier Management: High proficiency in top-level negotiation with national and international suppliers and statutory bodies.
Transformation Leadership: Experience in leading staff through complex change and transformation projects (e.g., digitising booking platforms).
