Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

We are expanding our Clinical & Therapy Team and are now recruiting Occupational Therapist Assistants and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants to help deliver meaningful, life-changing support within our homes.
The Role
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work directly with our young people and alongside our multi-disciplinary team (MDT), including Senior Therapists, Registered Managers, Residential Teams, and external professionals.
You will play a key role in ensuring therapeutic plans are followed consistently, progress is tracked accurately, and young people receive high-quality, needs-led support.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver structured, goal focused sessions with young people based on plans set by Senior Therapists (OT or SaLT).
* Support young people to develop life skills, communication skills, emotional regulation and independence.
* Carry out 1:1 and small-group interventions, both independently and alongside a Senior Therapist.
* Provide in-home modelling of therapeutic strategies to staff teams.
* Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency of therapeutic support.
* Attend MDT meetings, placement meetings, LAC reviews, clinical discussions, and staff handovers.
* Collect and record data for assessments, reviews and ongoing therapeutic interventions.
* Maintain clinical notes that are accurate, timely and compliant with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
* Support the implementation of therapy plans, sensory plans, communication programmes and behaviour support strategies.
* Assist in preparing materials, resources and environmental adaptations recommended by Senior Therapists.
* Engage in supervision with the Senior Therapist.
* Undertake relevant training, CPD and reflective practice sessions.
* Work sensitively and therapeutically with children who may have experienced trauma, neurodiversity, SEMH needs or communication challenges.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people (residential care, education, clinical or community settings).
* An understanding of SEN, communication needs, sensory needs or emotional/behavioural needs.
* Someone proactive, organised and able to work independently once trained.
* Strong communication and report-writing skills.
* A compassionate, patient and resilient individual with a genuine desire to help young people grow.
* (Experience as an OT Assistant, SaLT Assistant, Support Worker, SEN Teaching Assistant or similar is highly advantageous.)
