Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Red Moor School, Lanlivery, PL30 5BT. Part of Outcomes First Group, a provider of education and associated services across the UK. Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils within an education setting, collaborating with the education team.
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and maintain safeguarding standards.
* Support the development of the service offering through involvement with apprentices, students, and therapy assistants where applicable.
Requirements / Essential Criteria
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
* Valid and up-to-date HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCSLT
* At least 5+ years of practicing experience at the specialist level with the client group in a similar setting
* Highly developed specialist knowledge and clinical understanding supported by theory and practical experience
* Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings with some responsibility for service and team performance
* Experience in communicating with and working with families/relatives and carers
* Experience in developing training and in-person presentations
* Experience in providing professional and clinical supervision
* Experience in taking part in research projects and conducting audits
Skills
* Exceptional relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Advanced knowledge of core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of approaches relating to neurodivergence, cognitive differences/difficulties, and trauma-informed practice
