The Role
So, what will you be doing as a Interconnect Design Engineer?
* Interpret sub-system requirements and translate them into robust cable and interconnect designs.
* Generate electrical schematics and cable design definitions using Zuken E3 tools.
* Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and best-practice support for E3 users across the business.
* Integrate Zuken E3 throughout the product development lifecycle.
* Investigate and resolve a wide range of cable-related issues, working independently or as part of a project team.
* Support manufacturing teams by resolving production challenges and contributing to functional and environmental product trials.
What we’re looking for
* 2-5 years of hands‑on experience with E3.Cable (E3.Formboard and E3.3D Transformer advantageous).
* Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and implement processes and best practices within E3, covering electrical topology, wiring schematics, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
* Proven capability to train and deliver technical instruction to E3 users.
* Strong understanding of Product Data Management (PDM) and change management, ideally within Windchill or similar systems.
* Ability to design cable assemblies in accordance with electrical constraints including current, screening, signal types, voltage drop, EMC, and environmental considerations.
* Good appreciation of cable assembly production and process engineering.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with PTC Creo Cabling is beneficial.
Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to gain is required to be considered for this vacancy.
