About The Role
As a Teacher of English at Downsend School, you will teach across Key Stages 3 to 5, inspiring students through a rich and engaging curriculum that fosters literacy, creativity, and a lifelong love for the subject. You'll work closely with the Head of English to support the academic and personal development of students, playing a key role in preparing them for GCSE and A-Level success. With the launch of our Sixth Form in September 2025 and a growing emphasis on our Future Skills Vision, you'll contribute to an exciting phase in the school's development. You will also be involved in the wider life of the school, including co-curricular activities and events.

This is a permanent, full-time role.

You bring high expectations, strong classroom management, and a genuine enthusiasm for your subject. Whether you're an experienced educator or early in your teaching career, you are committed to continuous development, safeguarding, and delivering excellence in all you do.
