Job Purpose:
Following a period of sustained growth over the last 5 years, we require a Head of Business Development to drive sales and marketing activities in line with our key business objectives. The role involves developing and overseeing our commercial strategy, working with the Directors to prioritize and execute projects to facilitate growth.
We welcome candidates with a range of experience — we value potential as well as experience. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, outgoing, and possess strong branding, marketing, sales, and customer relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with our Directors to develop our existing commercial strategy to enable us to exceed our growth targets.
2. Lead the business development team to increase leads, improve lead conversion, and manage the sales pipeline to achieve significant income growth across our product portfolio.
3. Drive income growth by leveraging market, industry, and economic opportunities in line with set annual targets, budgets, and KPIs.
4. Provide research and insights to drive innovation and thought leadership. Participate actively in delivering the business development strategy, such as chairing round table discussions, establishing sector interest groups, and leveraging research and external outputs.
5. Act as an advocate for PARCOR, maintaining visibility externally through presentations and speaking engagements. Build relationships with prospects and stakeholders through networking.
6. Develop and manage social media strategies and campaigns. Support the team in creating content like blogs, press releases, and literature to position PARCOR as a thought leader in our target industries.
7. Research and secure new business tenders, frameworks, Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), and accreditations.
8. Organize and coordinate business and social events.
9. Serve as a brand ambassador, leading efforts to build our corporate brand.
10. Collaborate with Directors, team members, and other departments to set strategic direction for business development, including sector penetration. Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders.
11. Manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
12. Coach and manage team members to drive income growth, ensuring an effective sales process and lead management.
13. Develop market and sector knowledge, understanding core client needs.
14. Participate in the senior management team, attending monthly meetings, contributing to organizational strategies, and being involved in project teams and internal consultancy.
15. Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective sales plans for new products and services.
16. Work with marketing and other teams to clearly articulate our value proposition to prospective clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* A degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or related fields.
* An MBA or equivalent business qualification.
* Experience in Social Housing, Surveying, and Retrofit sectors.
* Ability to build and demonstrate a strong brand.
* Excellent communication and networking skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Proactive in identifying new marketing and business opportunities.
* Proven track record in sales and business development, with experience managing pipelines and achieving income growth.
* Understanding of the sales process and sector networks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
