As a Senior Estimator you'll take full ownership of the tendering process - managing enquiries, producing detailed cost breakdowns, and coordinating submissions for complex, high-end residential projects. With strong knowledge of traditional construction methods, contractual law, and estimating software, you'll play a critical role in driving commercially sound, competitive bids. All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with You’ll take ownership of the estimating process, and follow a robust estimating procedure including managing all enquiries to sub-contractors, choosing applicable sub-contractors, and communicating other bid requirements to members of the bid team. You’ll oversee of the entire bid process, which includes liaising with the architect or Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), establishing the bid requirements for submission, agreeing responsibility for the bid requirements, setting up and chairing tender launch, mid bid and settlement meetings, and liaising with the marketing department to ensure the bid is submitted to company standards. You’ll complete quantity take offs as required and schedules of work, or bills of quantities if applicable. You’ll analyse sub-contract returns (including sub-contract comparisons) and engage with our supply chain throughout the bid to ensure suitable returns are provided. You’ll complete elemental rate breakdowns at the completion of projects and help to manage our internal cost database. You'll assist with multi-stage tenders, including the preparation of preliminary costings and completion of tender forms. You’ll assist, if necessary, with pre-qualification questionnaire and enquiry information. Where will you be based? You’ll join our Preconstruction Team, working alongside experienced professionals who lay the groundwork for every successful project. The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role: You’ll have a HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification You’ll demonstrate a detailed knowledge private residential building contracting. You’ll possess an awareness of property taxation matters and contractual law You’ll come with a good understanding of traditional building methods and products associated with the refurbishment of listed buildings and high end residential construction.
