Product Development & Packaging Manager (Contract)
Central London (Hybrid)
Fixed-Term Contract until February 2027
Up to £50,000 pro-rata, dependent on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Development & Packaging Manager to join a growing beauty business on a fixed-term basis. This role will play a key part in managing product and packaging development activities, supplier relationships and supply continuity across a diverse portfolio of products.
Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory and Marketing teams, you will be responsible for driving product and packaging development, supporting operational projects and ensuring the successful delivery of packaging initiatives from concept through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage relationships with suppliers across product and packaging categories.
* Ensure products and packaging components are supplied on time to support business operations.
* Lead product and packaging development projects for new launches and existing products.
* Coordinate artwork updates, specifications and packaging changes with internal teams and suppliers.
* Monitor supplier performance and work with partners to improve quality, service and cost efficiency.
* Investigate and resolve product, packaging and supply issues.
* Maintain product and packaging specifications and technical documentation.
* Support sourcing activities, supplier assessments and cost-saving initiatives.
* Ensure products and packaging meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Manage packaging and product changes driven by reformulations, supplier changes or business projects.
* Identify opportunities to improve sustainability, efficiency and innovation across the product portfolio.
* Provide regular project updates and communicate risks or challenges to stakeholders.
Key Requirements
* Experience in Product Development, Packaging Development, Procurement or Supply Chain within beauty, cosmetics, personal care, FMCG or consumer goods.
* Good understanding of primary and secondary packaging, including bottles, jars, tubes, pumps, labels and cartons.
* Experience working with external suppliers and manufacturing partners.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
* Experience supporting product or packaging launches and change management projects.
* Knowledge of sustainable packaging solutions or packaging compliance would be beneficial.
