About the RoleMedway Council is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted rated Good in all areas children's home Eden House located in the beautiful village of Upnor. Set within an acre of green space Eden House provides a stable and nurturing environment for up to five young people aged 11 to 17 with emotional and behavioural needs.
You will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the highest quality of care is provided and that the home meets all regulatory requirements. You will play a vital role in leading the team developing staff practice overseeing care planning and contributing to the smooth day to day running of the home.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Registered Manager with service delivery team leadership and maintaining high standards of careDeputise in the absence of the Registered Manager taking full responsibility for operationsEnsure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations SCCIF and all relevant safeguarding and health and safety requirementsLead on supervision rota management recruitment training and professional development of residential staffOversee and review care plans behaviour support strategies and risk assessmentsWork in partnership with external agencies and promote Medway Council's values and goalsFoster a culture where children's voices are heard respected and used to shape their care
About YouWe are looking for someone passionate resilient and experienced in residential care who can lead by example and motivate a team. You will needNVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent and a willingness to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential ChildcareA minimum of 3 years experience in a residential setting and proven leadership or supervisory experienceExperience supporting children with emotional behavioural and complex needsStrong working knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding legislationExcellent communication leadership and organisational skillsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
