As a Management Accountant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of a high-quality financial and management accounting service. You'll be instrumental in supporting the effective and efficient management of our financial resources, all within statutory and regulatory guidelines. Working closely with the Finance team, you will contribute to accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, internal and external reporting, and the meticulous management of our balance sheet reconciliations.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting the Financial Controller in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring income and liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reviewed.
Assisting in the planning, preparation, and delivery of statutory reports, publications, internal and external audits, and associated financial accounts within agreed timelines.
Preparing VAT Return workings and associated reconciliations.
Processing and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including timely depreciation journals.
Processing, reconciling, and posting manual bank transactions, as well as contributing to regular cashflow forecasts.
Taking ownership of the monthly close process, analysing transactions and preparing necessary journals to maintain accurate ledgers for both month-end and year-end.
Processing prepayment and accrual journals, ensuring all accounting entries are supported by comprehensive working papers.
Completing monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet control accounts, including GRNI, VAT, and payroll, with robust supporting documentation for audit purposes.
Applying your judgement to identify and investigate key and unexpected variances in balance sheet control accounts, providing clear and insightful commentary.
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance team, identifying and implementing process enhancements and ERP system optimisations.
Providing flexible support and cover across the wider Finance team during absences and peak periods, potentially including hands-on support and managing additional financial responsibilities.What We're Looking For:
Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification.
Proven experience working with multiple legal entities and business streams.
Demonstrable experience in preparing monthly financial statements.
Significant experience in financial reconciliations.
Essential experience with ERP/general ledger systems
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to liaise effectively across different teams.
Strong presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint.
