About the opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Targeted Support Worker to join our Children and Youth Services team. Our programmes offer intensive help and positive interventions for individuals dealing with serious issues such as homelessness, criminal involvement, educational struggles, mental and physical health challenges, and family difficulties. As Targeted Support Worker you will inspire and empower young people between the ages of 10 – 19 to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition and contribute towards creating ‘stronger communities and brighter futures. You will be responsible for implementing and delivering our Safe Hands program which supports young people between the ages of 10-19 who are neurodiverse, non-school attenders and struggle with their mental health. The Targeted Support Worker will work closely with the Targeted Support Co-ordinator to ensure the programs align with the goals and objectives of EITC’s five-year strategy - Trinity Project. Other key responsibilities will include: Delivering both 1-1 personalised mentoring support, and small targeted group work, raising awareness of various topics. Delivering sessions that support the achievement of both formal and informal qualifications To work with internal and external partners in supporting our participants into ETE and/or other support pathways following their time on programme, including referring and sign posting family members and young people into the diverse range of programmes at EITC Engaging in training opportunities to maintain and improve skills relevant to supporting participants Supporting participants in planning next steps, including education, employment, or training pathways Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive way Supporting participants in developing coping mechanisms, resilience, and social skills Safeguarding To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment Monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the Safeguarding Officer of EITC, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote good practice throughout the programme Who we are looking for: We are looking for an individual who has a genuine interest in the support and development of vulnerable/neurodiverse/SEND young people. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience: VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or other relevant qualification/experience in youth or community work (or willing to work towards the qualification) Relevant Mentoring qualifications IT literate to a good level and competent Certificate/Training in Safeguarding Experience of Managing a caseload of young people aged 10-19 years Experience of 1-to-1 support work with young people; to include assessment, intervention planning and deliver of action plans Experience of delivering workshops and targeted interventions This position will be offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, with the role being based across our Everton in the Community campus, Schools and other locations deemed suitable by the Children and Youth Support Manager.
