Overview
Bronant/Bontnewydd area. Days and times to suit and be agreed with the employer. Rate of pay £14.00 per hour. We are looking for caring and reliable personal assistants to provide support to an older relative with reduced mobility to live independently at home.
Responsibilities
* Support to maintain personal hygiene, including toileting needs, managing and maintaining nutrition; encouraging her to eat meals and maintaining a habitable home environment.
* There is a choice of days and times available, as set out below. These can be flexible and agreed with the employer. This role involves use of a gantry hoist, training will be provided if required.
* 8am-10am (2 hours) Monday to Sunday – Tasks include: A wash in bed; Dressing; Changing her pad; Check her skin; Applying cream to her toes; Oral hygiene; Comb and tie hair; Transfer from bed to the armchair; Ensuring comfortable position in armchair with raised legs and blanket; Ensure everything is within reach including fluids.
* 11am-11:45am (45 minutes) Monday to Sunday – Tasks include: Transfer from armchair to commode; Check/Change pad; Transfer from commode to armchair.
* 3pm-6pm (45 minutes) Monday to Sunday – Tasks include: Transfer from armchair to wheelchair; Transfer from armchair to commode; Check/Change pad; Transfer from commode to armchair.
* 9:30pm (1 hour) Monday to Sunday – Tasks include: Transfer from armchair to commode; Wash if required; Transfer from commode to bed; Undress; Ensuring comfort in bed, safe sleeping position; Ensuring blankets and a drink are within reach.

* Two satisfactory references must be provided if requested by the employer. Post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
* Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
* You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistant Handbook when employment commences.
* You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
