About us:
Daniel Owen is an established recruitment consultancy specialising in the placement of quality temporary and permanent workers to all roles in the Built Environment. Working with some of the UK's largest and most respected construction, maintenance and engineering companies.
Grinder Role:
To support the MRO workshop by performing high-precision grinding operations on aircraft components using cylindrical and surface grinding machines, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and company procedures.
Grinder Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits.
2. To be able to work unsupervised/ minimal supervision.
3. To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
4. To be able to work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
5. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures.
6. You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
7. You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.
8. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.
Grinder Requirements / Skills:
9. Extensive experience working internal and external grinding machines. Knowledge of both essential.
10. Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.
11. Experience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
12. Knowledge of CNC grinding preferable.
13. Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
14. Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.

15. Able to use their own initiative.
16. Strong analytical skill set.
17. Good communicator- ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that affect the business.
18. Good planning, organisation and administration skills, PC literate.
19. Able to maintain performance under pressure.
20. Ability to make decisions and problem solving skills.
21. Able to communicate with all levels of Management.
22. Willingness to learn new skills to help the Company achieve its targets.
23. Able to communicate with all levels of Management.
24. Must be a strong team player willing to improve and learn methods and processes with the attitude to pass on knowledge and help with the improvement of the working environment within the Plating department.
