Job Overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our development management team, responsible for coordinating and responding to development management matters for the Service. This role will involve the supervision and monitoring of construction works on new development sites and you should be familiar with health and safety matters on site, including traffic management systems.

Role Details

* Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA
* Hours: 35 hours per week
* Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am – 4:15pm
* Salary: £32,337 – £37,465 annual salary


Responsibilities

You should have knowledge and experience of legislative and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. Roads Construction Consent), including the assessment of soils, drainage, and the materials used. The role will involve supervision and monitoring of construction works, familiarity with on‑site health and safety, and traffic management systems. You should possess good customer care skills, be confident in dealing with site‑related issues, and have experience in record keeping. You will work independently and as part of a team, assisting colleagues with planning application assessment where required, and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and directions.


Qualifications

* Desirable: an NC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or significant experience in lieu of this.
* Must hold a current driver’s licence and be able to travel throughout the Council area.
