Job Role
The Corporate tax department at Alexander Sloan provides tax planning, advisory and compliance services to a range of clients including groups of companies, owner-managed companies, research and development businesses, charities, credit unions and members clubs.
A role has become available for a Corporate Tax Senior to assist the corporate tax manager. This is a client-facing role, requiring the individual to manage c.180 Company tax returns, respond to incoming queries and provide advice to clients continuously.

Some of your key respons ibilities will be :
Providing tax advisory and tax compliance services to the Firms corporate client base.
Supporting the technical and personal development of the tax team.
Preparation of Corporation tax returns.
Advising clients of payments due and follow-up regarding tax repayments.
Preparation of tax accounting schedules, including deferred tax for inclusion in Company statutory accounts.
Depending on experience, reviewing Tax Returns prepared by more junior members of the team.
Liaising with other departments, as and when necessary.
Proactively identifying opportunities for restructuring clients' tax affairs.
Depending on experience, providing specialist tax advice to clients including succession planning, choice of business vehicle and general owner-manged business tax advice as it affects the shareholders/owners.
Dealing with HMRC on tax investigations.
Working closely with the Corporate Tax Manager and acting as first point of contact for corporate clients.
Assisting the leadership team on Firm-wide projects from time to time.

Good level of technical knowledge, and experience with using online technical resources to research and summarise complex issues for partners, managers and clients.
Genuine enthusiasm for developing relationships with clients and acting as a Trusted Adviser.
Experience of working within a Corporate Client Tax team as a Tax Senior, or a Tax Assistant looking to take the next step up in their career.
Ability to manage workflow for the department in a busy and demanding environment, and to manage and prioritise own workload.
Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt your style to suit a variety of audiences.
