Hi, my name is JenWilson and I am the Team Manager for the Wakefield CAMHS Eating Disorder Team!Were seeking an enthusiastic, committed Mental Health Practitioner withexperience and transferrable skills to join our eating disorder team.
You should be able todemonstrate considerable mental health skills and knowledge. An experience ofworking with Children and Young people facing eating difficulties is desirable,this can be transferrable skills from previous clinical experience.
The team is based predominantlybetween Airedale Health Centre in Castleford and Drury Lane Health Centre inWakefield. You will also work in different community settings across theWakefield District; therefore you will be required to demonstrate a flexibleapproach to travel as part of this role. Main duties of the job
As part of the role youwill be responsible for the assessment of young people presenting withdifficulties associated with an eating disorder. You will hold a caseloadwithin which you will deliver evidence informed care to assist the young personand family through recovery.
The successfulcandidates will need to develop good working relationships with keyprofessionals across the district; therefore excellent communication andengagement skills are essential. A commitment to improving service delivery anddeveloping new ways of supporting children, young people and families experiencesis crucial to work within the wider CAMHS team. In return we will provide acomprehensive induction programme, regular clinical and management supervision.

Job responsibilities
Thepost holder will:
Provide assessment and treatment to childrenand young people with mental health needs;
Work autonomously and collaboratively withinthe MDT, providing consultation for other agencies/professionals;
Promote the safeguarding and welfare ofchildren and young people.
Toprovide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with awide range of emotional and psychological problems who are referred tospecialist CAMHS, in keeping with evidence based practice with supervision froma senior clinician within professional guidelines and within the overallframework of the teams policies and procedures.
KEY RESULT AREAS:

To support theongoing process of delivering a comprehensive CAMHS system.

To provideassessment, interventions, therapy to children, young people with the mostsevere, complex and persistent mental health problems, including those whoare severely mentally ill or at suicidal risk and where appropriate, familiesas both an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team ina variety of settings to address need. This will include working with theCAPA model.

To apply a soundknowledge of safeguarding children and guidelines in clinical work.

To participate in an agreed clinical audit programmefor the service, and ensure lessons learnt from both audit and clinicalincidents are reported.

Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification, e.g. nursing, or other professional allied to medicine
* Dip SW or relevant mental health profession
* Membership of professional body
* Post graduate qualification in mental health (e.g. CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling)
* A teaching and assessing qualification.

* Substantial post qualification experience, some of which must be working with Children, young people and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting
