Purpose:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will monitor the production quality & productivity on an ongoing basis whilst also implementing improvement ideas. Audit existing processes and make recommendations to management on improvements.
Main Duties:
* Develop team members including conducting meetings and briefings.
* Ensure quality and productivity levels are met.
* Assist and develop production with the implementation of their improvement plans i.e. reject reduction, machine utilisation,cycle times ,Raw material utilisation, tooling problems, improved automation, etc.
* Actively facilitate kaizen continuous improvement practices within the area of responsibility.
* Help the section leaders monitor & manage waste
* Practice and promote and improve 5s within the designated area.
* Ensure shop floor discipline is maintained.
* Liaise Primary / Secondary Processes.
* Promote Standardisation.
* Understand and ensure adherence to company/section policies and procedures.
* Job related administration.
* Be aware of the health and safety policy of Nifco UK Limited, and actively participate in good health and safety practice at all times.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High level of injection moulding experience in a production environment and knowledge of manufacturing working procedures is essential.
High level of experience with production robots.
Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience.
Previous experience re team leader duties is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
Must possess numeracy and literacy skills.
Computer literate.
Must be willing, capable and enthusiastic in controlling, motivating and leading a team
Good communication, interpersonal skills and a positive disposition are essential.
