Joiner - Property Maintenance Belfast Wage: £15.82 per hour Hours of work: Mon - Thurs 8.00- 4.30. Fri - 8.00 - 1pm. Property & Projects Department We are seeking an experienced and motivated Joiner to join our Property Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy and varied maintenance environment, carrying out essential repair and maintenance work across council properties. About the Role Reporting to the Area Contract Manager (Building) or other designated officer, you will undertake a full range of joinery and maintenance duties either independently or as part of a team. The role includes both reactive and planned maintenance work within commercial and council-owned properties. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out all aspects of joinery work and general property maintenance Undertaking repairs, benchwork and installation work to commercial properties Working from technical drawings and specifications Identifying, ordering and collecting required materials Completing job costing and time recording documentation Participating in a 24-hour emergency callout rota where required Assisting with coaching, mentoring and supporting apprentices and new staff Driving council vehicles as required Erecting and dismantling scaffolding and working at height Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and council procedures Supporting excellent customer service and maintaining the reputation of the council Essential Criteria Applicants must: Be a time-served Joiner or hold relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds Craft and Advanced Craft in Carpentry & Joinery Hold a full current driving licence valid in Northern Ireland (or have access to suitable transport in line with reasonable adjustment requirements) Demonstrate at least one year ' s relevant experience in: A building maintenance environment Benchwork and joinery repairs to commercial properties Skills & Attributes Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong team-working abilities Excellent customer care and communication skills Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to complete written records accurately Commitment to equal opportunities and professional conduct Why Join Us?
