About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Front Line Shift Manager to work permanent nights on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, to be based at our production site in Bridlington. You will be a proven food manufacturing professional, with experience & exposure to a fast paced agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Allocating roles to team members and ensure that agreed staff levels are in place.
* Controlling labour variances by ensuring the correct manning levels are in place and that plant and equipment are running correctly.
* Ensure shift changeovers are smoothly handled and all relevant information is passed onto the next Shift Manager.
* Constantly review the production process and make recommendations where savings/efficiencies can be made
* Control the use of raw materials and packaging by ensuring that machinery is working satisfactorily and process information is in place for all materials used avoiding unnecessary waste
* Ensure adequate resources i.e. ingredients, packaging and hygiene materials are available and properly controlled
* Ensuring that food is manufactured in the safest and most hygienic way
* Ensure that complete compliance and continual improvement on the Quality System is achieved
* Training and development of the team – including conducting appraisal and performance reviews of staff and to work with the HR team on all aspects if recruitment, training and induction
* Achieve output targets in accordance with the production schedule
This role is working on a 4 on 4 off shift basis – 12 hour shifts and permanent nights.
Skills & Experience:
You should have previous experience within a fast paced Food Production environment in a Manager/Supervisory capacity.
With the ability to mentor individuals and teams you should be self-motivated and a good influencer.
You should be an excellent communicator with strong motivational skills. You should have the ability to also demonstrate good planning and administration skills and you should be PC literate with intermediate Excel skills.
Experience of Risk Assessing, an RIPHH Certificate in Food Hygiene & Safety and HACCP would also be advantageous
