Overview
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated individual to work in our Inventory Management team. The role is based within our Supplies department at The Northumbria Specialist Hospital. The post holder may be required to provide cover for our Inventory Management stock replenishment service on the Wards and Departments within the hospital site.
Responsibilities
* Manage stores and non-stores deliveries of medical and non-medical equipment and consumables for onward transfer to wards and departments on site, ensuring needs of service users are met and that guidelines and instructions for the service are adhered to.
* Check the quantity and quality of goods, receipt orders into the Trust Ordering System, and complete any necessary documentation.
* Receive and receipted deliveries in a Receipt and Distribution environment; work to deadlines and communicate with staff at all levels.
* Use initiative to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Maintain high attention to detail and provide reliable customer-facing service with a helpful, flexible attitude.
* Have a basic understanding of COSHH and Health & Safety in the workplace.
* Be prepared to work at any of the four main hospital sites to provide the Inventory service; a driving licence or ability to travel to those sites is beneficial.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in a Receipt and Distribution environment with receipt of deliveries.
* Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with staff at all levels and within a customer-facing role.
* PC literate with experience entering data into computerised systems.
Desirable
* Knowledge of COSHH.
* Customer service experience.
* Driver’s license or ability to travel to multiple sites.
