Overall Purpose of the Role
You will deliver influential financial and commercial support to a designated Business sector, enhancing service levels, cost efficiency, and adding value through effective business partnering and supporting organizational objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Purpose: Commercial Support
* Partner with key stakeholders to facilitate strong decision-making, managing financial risks and opportunities.
* Assist in applying sector strategies and developing solutions aligned with organizational goals.
* Provide proactive financial analysis to support business decisions.
* Manage financial risks and opportunities from volumetric and contract mechanisms, monitoring business performance.
Performance
* Analyze key reports such as month-end, business reviews, budgets, and cash flows.
* Train operational teams in financial reporting and performance improvement.
* Review monthly balance sheets, escalating risks and opportunities.
* Enhance working capital through accurate billing and debt management.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities, consolidating data and preparing presentations.
* Monitor project delivery plans, challenge operational risks, and communicate with senior stakeholders.
* Prepare documentation for tenders, negotiations, and capital projects.
* Assist operational teams during mobilization phases, ensuring timelines are met.
* Ensure health and safety compliance and report incidents accordingly.
People: Relationship Management
* Collaborate effectively within teams.
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Supervise and develop junior team members, supporting their career growth and enhancing client service and financial knowledge.
Candidate Requirements: Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with at least 1 year PQE.
* Experience in a multi-site, multi-contract organization.
* Management accounting experience, including reporting and analysis for decision-making.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Experience in business partnering with non-finance professionals.
Desirable
* Experience in mentoring junior staff.
* Adaptability to changing environments.
* Proficiency in Excel Macros, VBA, SAP, and Cognos.
