Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Unscheduled care team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a Category B prison located in Lancashire. The Paramedic will be based within the Healthcare Department, with required duties on the prison wings. Responsibilities include handling emergency radio communications and conducting consultations.
Job summary
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday). Two-week shift pattern. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 07:30–19:45. Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 07:30–19:45. There is a Sunday service element in the schedule. Salary: up to £42,094 – £47,466 per annum depending on experience. This position is permanent.

Main duties of the job
* Provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for emergency and unplanned care needs, including primary and acute care.
* Deliver non-judgmental care, build therapeutic relationships, and maintain professional boundaries.
* Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, following policies and safeguarding considerations.
Qualifications and experience
* Qualified Paramedic
* Current professional registration (HCPC)
* Proven post-registration ambulance experience
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Experience in Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments, or Minor injuries/illness
Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
