An exciting opportunity has arisen for a social worker to join the Learning Disability Service in Salford.
The Learning Disability Service has been an integrated team for over 20 years, working alongside health colleagues in a single service. We strive to support people to live well and to be safe at home by having strength-based conversations and working closely with partner organisations to keep people well connected to their local communities.
The Learning Disability Service aims to improve outcomes for people who live in Salford by developing a skilled and motivated workforce. We invest in continued professional development to ensure social work practice is current and of a high standard.

Responsibilities
* Complete strengths‑based assessments and promote well‑being by utilising resources from social care, health and other voluntary or statutory agencies.
* Undertake initial assessments, proactively work with complex and legal issues, plan crisis interventions, provide information, advice, signpost, and transfer to other social work teams or services as required.
* Perform safeguarding functions, including initial information gathering, risk assessment, safety planning and establishing whether Safeguarding Adult Enquiries under section 42 of the Care Act are required.
* Manage competing demands and prioritise work effectively, remaining calm under pressure and making confident decisions.
Qualifications
* Hold a degree in social work and be registered with Social Work England.
* Provide evidence of continuing professional development.
* Have a strong understanding of the application of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding Adults.
