Site Environment, Health and Safety Manager – Warrington area, United Kingdom. A global manufacturing business with multi-site operations seeking a Site HSE Manager to lead HSE strategy and execution on site.
Able to lead and implement a cultural change programme in HSE excellence on a large manufacturing site. You will collaborate with business leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to implement effective SHE practices that promote well-being, environmental sustainability, and workplace safety. You are the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in health, safety and environmental management onsite.
Responsibilities & Duties – Site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager
* Visible, onsite, leading the Health, Safety & Environmental function across the site, responsible for implementing HSE management systems, and the wellbeing of 400+ people on site
* Lead the development and implementation of the site’s Environment, Health & Safety deployment plan to deliver objectives in line with the Group Sustainability and HSE Strategy
* Coach and mentor the teams around HSE initiatives
* Lead the Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) program
* Develop and implement an Environmental Management System
* Develop an effective EH&S risk management program to ensure compliance
* Lead the investigation of accidents, environmental and HSE incidents to identify, implement and maintain corrective actions
* Analyze EH&S lagging and leading KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
* Work with and support management teams, developing and championing annual safety plans, best practice, and cohesive solutions to operational SHE challenges; champion continuous improvement and positive leadership behaviours
Experience and qualifications – Site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager
* Safety leadership experience ideally within logistics, supply chain or general manufacturing environments
* Be a cultural ambassador by role modelling safety leadership, coaching and developing others to foster an ‘Excelling’ H&S culture
* Empower all levels of the workforce, floor to SLT
* Visible and approachable - ALWAYS
* NEBOSH qualification (Certificate or Diploma), ideally graduate IOSH
* Delivering an effective framework for safety program management
* Delivering an effective framework of incident investigation, auditing, and training oversight
* Manufacturing and factory or warehousing site experience strongly preferred
* Certificate in Environmental Management (Assoc Member IEMA) preferred
* Good working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
* Diploma in Environmental Management desirable
* 5 years’ experience in similar working environment and/or position
