We are seeking a committed and motivated Chef de Partie to join our team at the Scottish Parliament Edinburgh EH99 1SP In this role, you’ll support senior chefs in the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, while helping lead and inspire the kitchen team. What you’ll do: Support senior chefs in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and delegation of duties Ensure all aspects of food preparation, presentation, service, and cleanliness meet company standards Assist with food ordering, ensuring stock is well managed, cost-effective, and rotated correctly Monitor and control food costs, working within agreed gross profit margins Maintain high standards of food hygiene, allergen control, safety, and cleanliness in line with HACCP and statutory requirements Complete temperature and cleaning records daily, ensuring compliance at all times Support and motivate the team, fostering enthusiasm, customer focus, and teamwork Contribute to menu planning, special functions, and the department’s marketing plan to encourage sales Engage directly with customers, serving when required and gathering feedback to enhance the food offering Supervise cleaning of kitchen equipment, counters, and service areas to agreed standards Assist with weekly stocktakes, performance reviews, and team training Be flexible with shift patterns to meet business needs, including occasional support at special events outside standard hours What we’re looking for: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar professional kitchen role Strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and HACCP practices Excellent communication and leadership skills to supervise and motivate a team A passion for delivering high-quality food and outstanding customer service Flexibility to support wider catering operations when require Consistently delivering a high-quality food service with no customer complaints Achieving excellent results in environmental health inspections and internal audits Delivering 5-star customer service and food presentation at all times Meeting all KPI targets for catering service delivery Maintaining compliance with food hygiene certification and training requirements What we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
