Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Electrical Project Manager/Senior Project Manager with a background in electrical instillations to be engaged on a permanent basis in Warrington.

Role Overview
The role will be expected to manage projects being undertaken on behalf of the company at our head office in Warrington. These projects mainly cover electrical asset replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, and vary in size from £5k through to multimillion-pound refurbishment projects. The projects cover all industry sectors including pharma, oil and gas, power generation, water utility, defence and nuclear.
The Senior Project Manager shall provide business development support for the design department and shall be the face of design at client meetings.
Reporting to the Group Design Manager, the Senior Electrical Project Manager will support the project team with the following responsibilities.
Assistance with project development scoping and costing
Liaison with the client with attendance at meetings either face to face or via Teams.
Resource scheduling
Client, Design and construction stakeholder engagement
Site surveys & reporting
Assist the construction supervisor in all technical matters
Project Manhour and programme controls
Regular project reporting on ongoing projects together with future BD opportunities
The Senior Project Manager will have experience of operating in an electrical construction background.
Role Detail Description:
The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the design team and construction team to support the efficient and compliant design and construction of the electrical engineering services installations for various projects.
The post holder will:
Provide effective, accurate & efficient project management support to the project
Be proficient in project controls including program development, manhour control, together with associated estimating activities
Support effective delivery of the project to time, quality, and cost targets
Produce documentation in accordance with defined standards / quality requirements
Liaise with design and equipment subcontractors
Lead the improvement of performance by seeking, reviewing and applying, where appropriate, innovative solutions
Interface with other disciplines such as Mechanical, Process, HVAC and Civil
Projects can cover the following aspects electrical installations:
HV Distribution and associated equipment
LV Distribution and associated equipment
Earthing
Cable containment systems
Embedded generation and UPS systems
Traditional building services including;
Lighting & small power
Fire detection & alarm
Emergency voice communications
Fire suppression
Structured cabling systems (Fiber & Copper)
Voice & data
Security systems
Lightning protection
Electric vehicle charging
Miscellaneous electrical systems
Functional Safety and Machine Guarding
Hazardous Area Design to BS EN #removed#:2014
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Experience of client liaison and business development
Extensive project experience (min 7 years) in a relevant support role including successful delivery of major projects for the UK.
Degree qualified or comparable demonstratable experience working at this level
Chartership through professional Institution desirable
Strong experience in UK based construction projects
Experience of Electrical Building Services design best practices
Strong understanding of design process & associated documentation
Project lifecycle experience (Concept through detail design to construction support) including RIBA work stages
Knowledge of data and administrative management practices and procedures
Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015
Ability to undertake site surveys
Collaborative skills and experience working in part of a multi-discipline team
Work package management encompass varying project stages from concept through to detail design and will include requirement for construction support
Working knowledge of principals of project controls
Ability to work in a team or alone, comfortable to liaise with client representatives
Ability to identify innovative solutions and embrace emerging technology
Possess strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and to maintain excellent working relationships
Understanding of laser scanning, 3D modelling and BIM execution
Software Packages
Proficient use of the following software packages:
AutoCAD LT
Trimble (Amtech) Pro Design Suite Cable Sizing Software
Microsoft suite of programs
