Wrexham and Flintshire CAMHS Practitioner Posts
Wrexham and Flintshire CAMHS are recruiting two CAMHS Practitioner posts to support the GP In-Reach Team. Our focus is on early intervention to promote wellbeing and prevent significant mental health difficulties among children and young people. Our vision is to enhance early intervention access—at the right time, place, and from the right people.
You will join a skilled team of Senior Community CAMHS Practitioners leading this work, initially collaborating with GP practices. We seek confident individuals knowledgeable about children's mental health who can communicate effectively. Your primary role will involve brief assessments, advice, and interventions for children and young people accessing GPs for emotional and mental health support. Additional duties include providing consultation and advice to GPs and practice staff, and supporting service development, including training delivery.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must meet professional requirements under the Mental Health Measure 2010 and hold a relevant, registered qualification in Health or Social Care (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work). Demonstrable competence, knowledge, and skills in risk assessment and evidence-based practice are essential. Evidence of clinical understanding and decision-making skills, teamwork, workload prioritization, and resilience under pressure are required. Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) are essential. Support for weekend risk assessments may be required as part of a rota. Clinical supervision will be provided by senior team members. Welsh language skills are desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
We encourage passionate candidates interested in early intervention to contact us for further discussion.
