Workplace: White City, London. The expectation is 2 days in the office.

The role

To support the Health & Safety and Duty of Care team in providing an appropriate safety and welfare function for the business which will deliver day to day advice, guidance and training on all health, safety and welfare matters.

The team

You will be joining the Global Risk Operations (GRO) team, a pivotal function with a comprehensive global remit. Our team is dedicated to supporting all ITV personnel in managing risks, ensuring duty of care, and safeguarding across our diverse and dynamic production environments.

The Global Risk Operations team is instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure workplace, enabling our staff to perform at their best. We provide expert guidance and implement robust risk management strategies to protect our people, uphold our values, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Work independently in advising on health and safety matters while recognizing the limits of one’s knowledge.
2. To assist the Head of Duty of Care with advising productions on general welfare queries.
3. Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, both verbally and in writing.
4. Conduct effective meetings and accurately document minutes.
5. Prepare comprehensive reports for formal Health & Safety meetings.
6. Ensure appropriate follow-up on accidents and near misses within the designated area of responsibility.
7. Demonstrate the personal skills needed to serve as a safety advisor for low-risk productions.
8. Competently draft risk assessments and other safety documentation for assigned productions.
9. Perform DSE assessments and routine Health & Safety inspections.
10. Collaborate with different areas of the business to develop risk assessment documentation and recommend suitable corrective actions.
11. Participate in routine site inspections alongside union representatives.
12. Support the Health & Safety team with administrative tasks, including training coordination, contractor vetting, and updating the online guidance portal, Compassactions.
13. Perform DSE assessments, contractor vetting and routine Health & Safety inspections.

You will need:

14. Proven and demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety or Production role is essential.
15. Desirable experience includes:Working within a Risk function.An understanding of duty of care and safeguarding principles.Knowledge of data collection and retention requirements concerning Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.Experience in developing and/or implementing reporting processes for H&S data.

Affiliate or Tech Member of IOSH having completed a relevant qualification (European Qualification Framework (EQF) Level 3 or any other qualification that IOSH assessed as meeting the criteria) working towards Technical Membership

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

16. Proficient in IT and quick to adapt to new technologies with a strong understanding of Google suite
17. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and grammatically accurate content.
18. Skilled in managing large volumes of data to produce meaningful reports.
19. Committed to delivering high-quality customer service and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
20. Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and effectively prioritizing tasks.
21. Experienced in providing support within a team environment.
22. Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
23. Able to meet tight and evolving deadlines with a flexible and proactive approach.
24. Works well under pressure and can operate independently when needed.
25. Skilled in handling confidential matters with tact and diplomacy.
26. Strong judgment in identifying when to escalate issues.
27. Approaches problem-solving with flexibility, creativity, and composure.
28. Highly organized with the ability to multitask and set clear priorities.
29. Confident in managing highly sensitive information, even under external pressures.
30. Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
31. Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic, with a hands-on attitude.
32. Adept at managing multiple stakeholders with diplomacy.
33. A pragmatic and flexible problem-solver, capable of addressing complex issues while adapting to business needs.
34. Understand business decision-making regarding acceptable inherent risks in content

Please note that both national and international travel will be required for this role, therefore a degree of flexibility is essential.

You will also need to be flexible regarding contact outside of standard office hours and be available to provide support in the event of an out-of-hours emergency.

Some weekend work may also be necessary, depending on production filming schedules.
