An excellent opportunity has arisen tojoin the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.We are seeking anexperienced Senior Medical Secretary to provide support to the ConsultantPsychiatrists and their Senior Medical Secretaries at Studdert Kennedy House,Worcester, WR1 2AE
Relevant Level 3 MedicalSecretary qualifications (e.g AMSPAR Medical Terminology). OCR/RSA 3 or equivalent in Text/WordProcessing. GCSE (Grade A-C) orequivalent in English Language.
Thisis a part time post working 35 hours per week.
Anability to work flexibly using your own initiative and to be a pro-active teammember is essential. You must have very good organisational skills and be aneffective communicator. The work isinteresting and varied and full training will be provided.
Shortlistedcandidates will be required to undertake an additional assessment as part ofthe selection process.
Please note the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status. If you are employed on an acceptable time limited visa, there is no guarantee of sponsorship at point of expiry.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the busy admin team,supporting the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.
You will undertake a vital role in therunning of the community mental health function providing all aspects of adminsupport including minuting of meetings, telephone duties, processing clinicletters, generic inbox management, reception cover when necessary, appointmentbooking and generic office duties. Therole will include contact with patients, carers, professionals (internal andexternal) and colleagues daily.
As well as being part of the NeighbourhoodMentalHealth, you will act as a member of the Neighbourhood Mental Health Teamsecretarial function providing support and cover when required, liaisingregularly with the clinical team and actioning daily admin tasks. You are required to have a high level oforganisational skills and not only be able to be self-motivated but be a teamplayer.
The ability to prioritise a busy workload and workflexibly to meet demand are essential requirements of the role as well as agood customer service focus, when dealing with internal and external enquires.

Job responsibilities
Senior Medical Secretary dutiesspecific to the role.
Providing efficient andsmooth-running secretarial service to the consultants. Arranging appointments, maintaining a diaryand appointment system for clinics and make arrangementsfor special appointments for patients / relatives, consultations in the homeand emergency visits as required. Handletelephone enquiries regarding appointments, cancellations referring wherenecessary to the appropriate person and acting within the guidelines laiddown. Preparing clinic letters, coverreception when required. General office duties to include photocopying andscanning. Attend service and clinical meetings, as required and providedfeedback to colleagues. Deal withincoming and outgoing post. Act as aliaison between professionals.

Qualifications
* Relevant Level 3 Medical Secretary qualification (e.g. AMSPAR Medical Terminology)
* OCR / RSA 3 or equivalent in Text / Word Processing

Experience
* Minimum of 3 years Administrative / Secretarial experience
* Minute taking experience
* Supervision/management of staff

Knowledge
* Knowledge of the full range of Administrative - Secretarial procedures
* Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook
* Medical Terminology
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act
