Overview
The Perinatal Mental Health Community Service (PMHCS) covers the whole of Kent and Medway. PMHCS specialises in the assessment, diagnosis and short‑term treatment of women aged 18 and above who are affected by moderate to severe mental health illness during the pre‑conception, antenatal and postnatal period. As a member of the PMHCS you will provide specialist clinical interventions and support to a defined caseload of women and their infants experiencing perinatal mental illness.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Work alongside the existing PMHCS team, delivering a service to mothers and infants within the Kent & Medway area.
* Maintain a clinical caseload within agreed limits, providing specialist interventions to clients with perinatal mental illness.
* Provide specialist liaison advice and support on nursing practice developments within PMHCS to primary and secondary care professionals.
* Participate in delivering specialist perinatal mental health training and supervision to other professionals when needed.
* Develop links with local mental health services to improve the interface between primary and secondary care for this client group.
* Accept referrals requiring specialist input for assessment, treatment and coordination with other relevant services.
* Work collaboratively with care coordinators and other mental health professionals, complementing the ongoing intervention of generic teams during the perinatal period.
* Provide specialist clinical interventions to clients, infants and families experiencing perinatal mental illness.
* Manage caseloads and administration systems.
* Formulate, implement and evaluate clinical programmes.
Requirements
* Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car or vehicle for business purposes (unless disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
