We have an exciting opportunity to join the bank as a Public Cloud Platform Lead.
Here you’ll be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled cloud infrastructure engineers, leading the continued evolution of the UK’s Public Cloud Landing Zone, enhancing its features, whilst partnering across Santander Group on a common capability that will provide pace and efficiency to the Santander’s Public Cloud adoption.
You’ll be accountable for team leadership, whilst getting into the detail of deliveries within the Public Cloud Landing Zone, collaborating with Architecture to define a vision and clear strategy roadmap for the future.
The difference you’ll make:
1. Taking ownership of the day to day management of the Cloud Engineering function, conducting regular :’s, goal setting
2. Owning, shaping and delivering a cloud engineering roadmap that meets the demands of its customers, across the business functions, Cyber, Data and Architecture
3. Providing vision and clarity of the cloud engineering roadmap to both your engineering team, customers and senior stakeholders
4. Engineering delivery (Design, Build & Test) across the core components of our Public Cloud infrastructure. Driving innovation where possible
5. Liaising with Architecture to ensure cloud technology standards are engineered and delivered to meet architectural standards and patterns
6. Liaising with technology leadership and the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to help contribute towards the overall Public Cloud Strategy
What you’ll bring:
7. Proven people leadership experience with a track record in leading agile cloud engineering teams
8. Demonstrable knowledge with hands-on experience across Public Cloud, with particular focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies
9. Full appreciation and experience of SDLC, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps principles
10. Knowledge of how to engineer & operate a highly resilient Public Cloud infrastructure across multiple regions
11. Comfortable in reaching technical trade-offs between short-term and long-term business needs, being able to blend vision with pragmatism and realism to help navigate through these trade-offs, involving time, cost, quality, scope and risk
It would also be nice for you to have:
12. Previous experience of working within a regulated sector
13. AWS certification to at least Associate level
14. The ability to operate as a Product Owner for your team where the demand arise

rd Stage – An hour-long face to face interview at our Unity Place office, Milton Keynes covering additional technical questions and min presentation relating to scenario question (supplied before the interview).
