Visual Rehabilitation Specialist (West Cornwall)
Location: Camborne, Cornwall
Pay: £16.52 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (Part-Time)
Working Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract Duration: 1 November 2025 – 23 January 2026
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Visual Rehabilitation Specialist to join our Sensory Support Team in West Cornwall. This is a temporary, part-time role based in Camborne, providing essential rehabilitation support to visually impaired residents across the local community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver visual rehabilitation programmes tailored to the needs of individuals with visual impairments.
2. Provide whitecane mobility training, daily living skills training, and other techniques to promote independence.
3. Work collaboratively with service users to set personalised goals.
4. Offer informal support and guidance to an Apprentice Visual Rehabilitation Specialist.
5. Maintain detailed case records and reports
Essential Requirements
6. RWPN Registration – must hold a recognised qualification in visual impairment rehabilitation, such as a Degree or Diploma in Rehabilitation Work for the Visually Impaired (or equivalent).
7. In-depth knowledge and understanding of visual impairments and sensory loss issues.
8. Experience in delivering one-to-one training and rehabilitation in home and community settings.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Other Requirements
10. Access to a car, ability to drive a pool vehicle, or alternative suitable transport for home visits in the community.
11. Professional appearance: smart casual dress code required.
