Senior Data Engineer – Fully Remote (UK)

Are you ready to design and implement a centralised enterprise data warehouse that becomes the single source of truth for business information? Our client is building next‑generation capabilities to power a merchant‑first ecosystem, and they want you on their team.
Responsibilities
* Design and deploy data architectures to unlock analytical and business value, including star schema modeling.
* Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for diverse data sources using tools like Airflow and Airbyte.
* Develop automated, resilient data workflows in a cloud‑native environment.
* Design tables, build solutions, and identify architecture improvements to enhance performance.
* Reduce execution time for existing scripts and optimise data processes.
* Write APIs or ETL jobs to move data across systems.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions.
* Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
* Take ownership of Jira tickets and deliver accountable outcomes.
Qualifications
* 4+ years advanced SQL experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
* Strong programming skills in Java or Groovy.
* Experience with DBT for data transformation and modelling (Senior‑level expertise preferred).
* Familiarity with APIs (SOAP, REST), CI/CD tools (GIT, Jenkins), and Cloud concepts.
* Agile mindset with basic Agile experience, proactive problem‑solving, and strong collaboration skills.
Bonus Points
* Knowledge of Snowflake Analytics Platform (highly desirable for Senior roles).
* Experience with automation and testing frameworks.
