BAND: 3 JOB PURPOSE: Housing Benefit Assessment Officers will be responsible for the processing and assessment of Housing Benefit claims and the provision of advice relating to Housing Benefit claims. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Possess one of the following: A) A Levels or equivalent level qualification (Level 3*) and can demonstrate 1 years' relevant experience. B) 5 GCSEs or equivalent level qualification (Level 2*) to include Maths and English at grade C or above and can demonstrate at least 2 years' relevant experience. (Please include dates) Exceptionally, candidates not holding the above level of qualifications but with 3 years' relevant experience** with evidence of training / learning in Housing Benefit related matters may also be considered. *Refer to Qualifications Framework for equivalencies ** relevant experience must be within an office based environment and include either supervisory responsibility or customer care responsibility or experience in the use and maintenance of information systems.
