About us
The Headteacher and Governing Body of Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Curig wish to appoint a permanent Midday Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly school. You will be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunchtime period, including playground duties, classroom supervision during wet playtimes, and light cleaning duties in the dining hall. Applications are welcomed from those who have previously worked in a school environment, as well as from those with no prior experience. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
About the role
Pay Details: Grade 2 SPC 4, £25,949. Pro Rata £13.45 per hour. Hours of Work: 7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:45 to 13:30. 39 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
* Encourage pupils to maintain good hygiene standards and ensure proper table manners and behaviour in the dining hall and during play.
* Assist younger pupils at the server counter with the proper use of cutlery and help cut up their food when necessary.
* Ensure pupils remain within a safe environment and encourage them to play together safely.
* Attend to minor injuries, accidents and illness during the midday break and seek appropriate assistance if necessary.
* Report immediately to the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher any incidents or acts that constitute serious infringements of school rules such as bad behaviour.
* Ensure compliance with the council’s financial regulations, standing orders, policies and procedures.
* Implement the principles of the council’s equal opportunity policy while carrying out duties.
* Adhere to health and safety legislation and relevant council policies. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others, and undertake duties related to fire safety evacuation commensurate with the role.
* Implement the principles of the council’s environment policy while carrying out duties.
* Report without delay any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade as may be required by the chief officer from time to time.
Qualifications
DBS Check Required: Enhanced and Barred Children DBS.
Experience working in a school environment preferred, but not required. Welsh language skills desirable.
