Job Description:
Qualified School & College Careers Adviser (Harrow/Stanmore) - onsite delivery only.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Level 6 (CIAG) Qualified Careers Adviser to join our Education Development Trust youth careers team from Summer 2025. The role involves providing careers advice, guidance, and support to individuals and groups of young people at school or college.
Role Type:
This is a term-time-only role, 4 days a week (7.4 days per week), starting September 2025, with some delivery at the end of the Summer Term (June/July 2025).
* Conducting one-to-one guidance interviews and creating action plans with Year 11 and 12 students, including SEND, young carers, and vulnerable students.
* Attending and supporting parents' events and open evenings.
* Updating and maintaining the careers library and display boards.
* Contributing to newsletters and engaging parents in careers education.
* Sharing Labour Market Information (LMI) and careers information via Year Group Teams.
* Completing CPD relevant to the role and school needs.
* Supporting the Careers Leader in meeting Gatsby Benchmarks.
* Organising an annual Careers Fair for the whole school.
* Organising career information talks.
* Supporting the Year 10 Interview Day for WEX preparation.
* Assisting with Careers Compass Evaluations and reporting on student feedback.
Requirements:
* Level 6 qualification in careers guidance (CIAG).
* Experience working with young people in educational settings.
* Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training, and personal development opportunities for young people, including labour market information.
* Ability to provide careers advice and guidance in one-to-one or group settings.
* Ability to engage and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as their parents/carers.
* Support the implementation of the school's careers program to meet Gatsby Benchmarks.
* Commitment to children's rights, equal opportunities, and diversity.
* Experience working with vulnerable groups and those with SEND.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work flexibly and independently.
