Directorate Manager - Geriatric Medicine and Stroke
An exiting opportunity has arisen to provide efficient and effective operational management support Geriatric Medicine and Stroke. Working closely with the Clinical Leads and Matron you will ensure that services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible standard. You will also be responsible for the delivery of key service improvement projects, as well as ensuring access targets are met for your directorate.
You will have operational management experience within the NHS, and a proven track record of contributing to the attainment of national performance targets. You will also have experience of managing resources, both staff and financial.
Main duties of the job
You will be a team player with a highly focused and innovative approach to problem solving. In addition, you will be able to work under pressure, self-motivated and confident, and along with the other directorate managers play an active role in our capacity management function.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree standard level in relevant field or equivalent level of management experience
* Substantial in-depth experience and knowledge of health service management
* Attended at Advanced Management Course
Knowledge and Training
* General Management theory and practice, including quality, financial management, HR management and service / business development
* Commitment to self-development and working within an NHS environment.
Experience.
* Recent and substantial NHS management experience
* Experience of managing performance of patient access targets (RTT, Cancer Waits, Emergency access) directly and through others
* Experience of business planning techniques and managing business processes
* Experience of designing / improving business systems and processes
